Stairway to Art

Privacy

What I ask for, what I use it for and how to get out whenever you want. Plainly.

The short version: the only thing collected is your email (and your name, if you fill it in) when you join the launch list. It is there to tell you when the campaign opens. There are no cookies, no tracking, and nobody buys or sells any of it.

Who handles your data

Sergio Villanueva, author of Stairway to Art, in Valencia (Spain). For anything to do with this page, write to info@stairwaytoart.com. I answer it myself.

What is collected and why

Data What for Legal basis
Email Telling you the campaign is about to open, and that it has Your consent, given when you sign up
Name (optional) Saying hello properly Your consent, given when you sign up

That is all. No address, no phone number, no age, nothing that is not needed to send you two emails.

How many emails you will get

Few, and written by hand. The plan is one the day before the campaign opens and one the day it opens. If something genuinely worth telling comes up, one more. There are no automated sequences and no weekly newsletter.

Who else sees it

Three providers, each with one job, and none of them uses your data for anything of their own:

  • · Web3Forms: receives the form and forwards it to me by email.
  • · MailerLite: keeps the list and sends the emails. It is based in the European Union.
  • · Cloudflare: hosts this website.

Some of them have servers outside the European Union. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

How long it is kept

Until the campaign ends and the games have been sent, or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. After that the list is deleted. If you unsubscribe, your email goes there and then.

How to unsubscribe

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are out, no questions and no forms. You can also write to info@stairwaytoart.com and I will do it for you.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, take it elsewhere, or object to my using it. Write to info@stairwaytoart.com and I will answer as soon as I can. If you think I have got it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency, which is the supervisory authority here.

Cookies

There are none. No analytics, no pixels, no advertising, and none of that banner everyone closes without reading. That is why this site asks you nothing when you arrive.

The images of the works

They come from Wikimedia Commons, under licences valid for commercial use (public domain, CC0, CC BY or equivalent). None of this affects your data, but it is fair to say so.
