Fresco from the central apse of the church of Sant Climent de Taüll (Vall de
Boí, in the Lleida Pyrenees), painted around 1123 by the painter known as
the Master of Taüll. Christ in majesty, on a monumental scale, holds an open
book with the inscription “Ego sum lux mundi” (“I am the light of the
world”), blesses with his right hand and sits inside a mandorla surrounded
by the symbols of the four evangelists. It was moved to Barcelona in 1922
and is now at the MNAC.
