Romanesque · chronological order 3

Wall paintings from the central apse of the church of Santa Maria de Taüll (Vall de Boí, Lleida), the twin of the Pantocrator at Sant Climent but with the Virgin Mary enthroned with the Child at the centre, surrounded by the Magi. They were stripped from the wall in the 1920s and taken to the MNAC in Barcelona, where they are kept along with the rest of the paintings from the churches of the Boí valley. What hangs in the church itself is a reproduction.
