A fresco of 500 × 770 cm painted by Raphael between 1509 and 1511 for the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican Palace, the private study of Pope Julius II. It gathers the main philosophers, mathematicians and scientists of antiquity into a grand imaginary building, with Plato and Aristotle talking in the middle. Each figure was given the features of a real Renaissance person: Plato is Leonardo da Vinci, Heraclitus is Michelangelo, Euclid is Bramante.
